Washing Your Vivere Cotton Hammock:
Since this Brazilian-style hammock does not have a spreader bar, you can actually throw it in a washing machine. However, the strings can tangle up during the washing process if you don’t follow a few tips…
Tip: To prevent the strings from tangling, you want to tie the hammock end strings together. Do this by wrapping a piece of string just below the loops and 3/4 of the way towards the bed of the hammock.
In addition, you can then place the hammock inside a pillow case. Then, tie the pillow case closed. Use a mild detergent and cool water on the rinse and spin cycles. Finally, hang the hammock to dry.
I have washed my own Vivere cotton hammock in the washer without any problems. However, I noticed that when I didn’t use a pillow case, the cotton fabric tended to pill.
