Giantex is not the Only Company that makes a Portable Folding Hammock…
Giantex is not the only brand when it comes to these folding hammocks. However, I wasn’t able to find many of the highly searched brands, including Strathwood Basics, Zenithen Limited, Kelsyus or Guide Gear.
I did find the Guidesman portable folding hammock at Menards. That said, it costs about $15 more and offers a flat bed that is not ideal for sleeping.
Note: Mac Sports makes a portable hammock with removable (not retractable) canopy. A hammock that comes with a shade canopy offers a big advantage, especially if you want to lay poolside or use it as a beach hammock.
On the other hand, the flat bed is better suited for relaxing and reading than for a good night’s sleep. That said, it does get high customer ratings and reviews.

Disadvantages to Folding Hammocks:
Due to their small frame and portability, these hammocks typically can hold a maximum of about 250 pounds. Likewise, they are designed only for single-person use.
They don’t have the capability to swing, like you can in larger oversized hammocks that you hang from trees. In addition, you can’t really sit in them sideways like a chair, like you can in double-wide versions.
Again, the flatter design on the Giantex does not provide the most comfortable sleeping surface. That said, if you simply just want to take a nap at the beach, park or campground, it can make a comfortable retreat!
