Note: I haven’t found an exact temperature rating on the cocoon. However, the general consensus from customers is that it retains heat well down into the 20’s (while also using a sleeping bag).

Third, the cocoon fits snugly around your hammock to minimize excess air flow. (It works similarly to mummy-style sleeping bags that reduce air space with their tapered design.)

In addition, it comes with a full-length zipper, so you can open it partially if you don’t need as much heat. You can conveniently make adjustments without having to get out of your hammock.

Fourth, the Micro Diamond outer fabric repels water. However, it even retains heat when wet! So, the Snugpak acts virtually like a tent, except that you don’t have to pack and carry as much gear.

Note: The Cocoon Hammock works very much like an underquilt or underblanket. It provides efficient and effective heat insulation, but it cannot support weight. In other words, use your hammock to hold weight, and wrap the cocoon around it like a jacket.

How to Add Extra Insulation with a Hammock Quilt:

How to Assemble the 3-Person Hammock Stand:

Although this triple hammock stand is large in size, it’s really simple to put together. In fact, it works much like regular hammock stands.

Essentially, the metal tube frame comes in small sections. The pieces fit together using a male/female design, and then they snap securely into place with a steel button.

To disassemble the frame, just depress the steel buttons and pull apart the sections. Whether you’re putting together or taking apart the stand, the process only takes a few minutes.

I actually have a portable steel hammock stand myself, so I know first-hand that set up is super easy. Plus, I love the fact that you don’t need any tools to put it together.
